January 29
29 January 2009 in UncategorizedWell, there goes the month of January! How much faster can time fly and stay still all at the same time. There has been so much happen this month, I am truly behind in my blogging. Trying to even remember the first part of the month and I am coming up with a blank so I’ll fill you in on current events!
Last week I started all the dreaded symptoms of anemia. (low blood count) I had no energy and slept alot and was still tired. My dear sister-in-law came for a visit last weekend and I’m afaid I was a real dud. We took the kids to the children’s museum and I made it from exhibit to exhibit and found the closest empty bench to set and rest at while they enjoyed whatever! Sure enough Monday morning I went to Dr. Morgan and my blood counts had dropped significantly. I was glad to know what the problem was and the next day I recieved another treatment of Rituxan. I got it a week early and for now we are going to get it every two weeks instead of every four. So, we are so glad to have that little issue under the table! I am feeling much better. Just the typical post-chemo yuckies!!
The most exciting part of this month has been that I am officially on the kidney transplant list at IUPUI! Praise God! Now the wait really begins. I would appreciate your prayers through this time. It is a very emotional experience of waiting. Knowing that when that call comes my life could change back to somewhat normal! It has been such a long road. I have had so many questions without answers. There has been joy and sorrow, but isn’t that just life? I am so thankful that no matter how difficult times have been I still have my family and friends, and my most cherished husband. I can’t even begin to tell all the ways that Tom blesses my life everyday. So, that is the latest from here.
Before I close I would just like to say, if you have an extra minute please lift a prayer for my parents. The ice storm that ravished the state of Kentucky this week has done tremendous damage to their house and property. Thankfully they are safe. They have a fireplace and can stay a little warm cuddled up next to it. They have no electric, water, or any of those things we take for granted. They do have plenty of food and firewood. We will get down to them ASAP. My brother will help with the clean up as well. Again we praise God for their safety.
Well, the next post and it will be February! Maybe I will have more time to blog! I have noticed in reading all of you all’s blogs, that I’m not the only one struggling to get that blogging done. I sure do love to read it though when you do post!
