August 11
11 August 2010 in UncategorizedHere goes August! Isn’t this month going by so fast. I am almost as excited as Braedon for school to start! I’m a little sad to to think that my little boy is getting to be such a big boy so fast. Size 6 boys/Size 1 shoes. I seem to always be buying new wardrobes for him! He is a special boy!
I am continuing to do very well in physical therapy. I will be going to three times a week in September to really push me over the edge for surgery. I have made huge stride in strength building and endurance building. I feel so much better. I am very thankful for Josie, my PT. She is tough enough to get a good job done, but very fun and kind. She really cares
My kidney transplant will be happening in October. The date has not been completely set yet, but we know the month. My focus is to keep my mind so busy that the time will go very fast. First off is to get Braedon settled in school. On that first day my goal is to get a long awaited manicure and pedicure. Somehow this summer, with a very active 5 1/2 year old boy in tow this has been put off. Then I am going to do a good deep clean of the house, and reorganizing of the basement. Next, I am getting signed up for some refresher stuff for nursing again. I hope to go back part time a few months after my transplant. I need to get my certification for chem/bio therapy renewed and CPR/BLS etc. That should be good mind therapy! I am looking into a program at Indiana Wesleyan to bridge over to my BSN. I have always been so sure that I was done with school, but somehow the thought of using my brain again has become exciting to me. I’m sure in the future it will help, even though I am a diploma nurse to have my BSN.
If I have time before the transplant I will start the work on the one room left in our house to be done. We have used that room as my dialysis room. My plans are for that to be my girlie room. Very pale blue walls, white full flowing window treatments, and much to Tom’s distress white furniture. It is the smallest bedroom in our home, so I’m going to get that pretty white daybed at POTTERY BARN that the trundle pulls out and pops up to make a Queen if needed. I will have a bedside table and a nice desk. Tom is making my desk for me from the pattern from POTTERY BARN as well. I have always loved their craft desk.
My goodness, I certainly have gone on and on. I guess that’s what’s happening to me these days! I continue to read all your blogs and enjoy staying up on your lives.

I wish I could go get a pedi/mani with you! I love the sound of your girlie room. Can’t wait to see pics. Back to school is always hard…but the kids are always excited! October will be here before you know it!
