18 August 2010 in UncategorizedGoodness me. Hasn’t this week absolutely flew by! Monday we were going to have a play date with one of Braedon’s best friends at Conner Prairie. We showed up for a great day outside. Weather was perfect! So, you can imagine the disappointment to find a sign at the door saying that they were closed on Mondays! I thought only hair stylist got Mondays off! Oh well, what do you do with two very diappointed little boys? Well, we remembered that the State Fair was on, so why not! We packed everybody in Carla’s mini van and off we went! Rodeo Day to boot! Braedon was to young to remember rodeos from Colorado, so that was fun to see the cowboys and horses and cows, or bulls, whatever they were. They had horns! I must make one side note that the cowboys in this part of the country really could never hold up to a Colorado cowboy! Seriously, they looked really small. Not to say that there wasn’t some good rodeoing going on, but it was different then I was used to. My friends here think I’m crazy, but it is true, they are smaller here.
Ok, enough of that
Braedon is counting down the days til school. I am so thankful for his bright mind, and eagerness to learn. The backpack is packed and school clothes are washed, ironed, and ready! He is really into music, and has been for a long time. The Sound Of Music is one of his all time favorite movies. This morning he came upstairs in tears, because he had taken his radio downstairs to see if he could play the sound track CD with the movie and get it to play together! He said “Mom, it just won’t work!”. It always seemed to be off just a bite. One of those moments you just want to shake your head and laugh, but that would crush he little heart so, I went downstairs to help him! Harder than you may think to do:), Did you know that your TV plays about 1/2 a second faster than your radio! Well, after trying and trying, I proved that it is true! By that time fortunately it didn’t matter anymore!
I do have some more exciting news to report. Many of you know that I have diligently been doing Physical Therapy. It has gone so well, and my leg has responded so much! Feeling is coming back and the muscles are strengthening. I can lift a 10 lb. weight for 3 reps of 10 with the Quad on my right side. Two months ago I couldn’t even lift the weight of just the leg! I started on the treadmill today for the first time. 20% incline for 5 minutes! It doesn’t sound like much, but believe me it was! I am so thankful for the progress. Also, yesterday I had my weekly labs drawn and every test that was run came back in normal range! God is so good! I am soo thankful for His healing touch once again to this poor old body of mine. My strength to get through each day is also so much better!
Well, its yard work tonight! Rain is suppost to be coming tomorrow. Its been awesome outside this week, so no complaining from me! God Bless You All! Till next time…
